Fifteen years ago, I was living in Australia working as a personal trainer in both outdoor and indoor fitness environments. At the time, it felt daunting. I wasn’t very confident, I wasn’t a huge fan of the gym, and I’d even failed my exercise-to-music and theory exams a few times. Fitness didn’t come naturally to me back then.

Everything changed when I pushed myself to take a three-day boxing course. It was tough — really tough. I lived on painkillers 🤣 — but I absolutely loved it. That course sparked something in me. For the first time, I felt like I’d found my thing. I realised I was actually good at boxing training and, more importantly, I wanted to teach it to others.
I started running boxing fitness groups, helping people build strength, confidence, and resilience through training. When I returned to England, life threw another challenge my way. I was pregnant, struggling, and finding things overwhelming. But four months after my daughter Ella was born, I launched my very first fitness class — and I haven’t really stopped since (apart from the COVID years).
Over time, my coaching has evolved and I now run a variety of training styles. However, boxing will always have my heart. Not just for what it’s done for me, but for what boxing training can bring out in others — strength, belief, and confidence they didn’t know they had.
